This beautiful and intricate celestial chart-'Harmonia Macrocosmica'- was created in 1660 by Andreas Cellarius and illustrates the heliocentric solar system. This piece is paired with an antique print of Alfred Russel Wallace's 'Golden birdwing butterfly" (Ornithoptera croesus) which was collected by Wallace in Bacan Island, Indonesia and named by him in 1859.
This piece is surrounded by vibrant encaustic metallic pigment wax and framed in beautiful patinated copper.
