Earth Elegies
I discovered this illustration in an old anatomy book and immediately fell in love with it. Anatomy as Art. It's a depiction of the fetus in the womb created in 1620 by Flemish anatomist and physician, Adriaan van den Spieghel. It has an elegance to it which perfectly depicts our connection with the planet and our role as guardians. Paired with an antique 1800's celestial map of the earth and it's revolutions.
